Remarkable results scored from CTG's ecological regulation experiments
Date: 2024-08-29
CTG reported remarkable results in its 2024 ecological regulation experiments on the cascade?reservoirs of the lower reaches of the Jinsha River and the Three Gorges Reservoir.
During the experiments, fish with drifting eggs in the Yidu and Shashi sections of the Yangtze River spawned approximately 68.7 billion and 60.9 billion eggs, respectively.
In particular, the numbers of eggs spawned by the four major Chinese carps (Black Carp, Grass Carp, Silver Carp and Bighead Carp) in the two sections stood at 34.2 billion and 22.3 billion, respectively.
This year, CTG has conducted 11 ecological regulation experiments on the cascade reservoirs along the Yangtze River's main stream, completing all planned tasks for the annual trials.
Such?experiments have been carried out for 14 consecutive years since 2011, enhancing the ecological benefits of the reservoirs while promoting the protection and restoration of the river basin’s aquatic environment.
