River
Management
CTG continues to advance scientific and technological research projects, including the smart construction of dams, the smart operation and maintenance of power stations, and the scientific dispatching of river basin cascades. The project has broken more than 100 world records, obtained over 700 invention patents, established 135 engineering quality and technical standards, and won the Special Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award. The Xiluodu Project is known as the “smartest dam in the world” since it pioneered the smart building of ultra-high arch dams in China. The Wudongde Project boasts eight world-first achievements and has realized 15 groundbreaking milestones, including the construction of the world’s thinnest ultra-high arch dam. Furthermore, the installation and operation of China’s independently developed million-kilowatt hydroelectric units at the Baihetan Project mark the beginning of an era of gigawatt-level generating units.
Leveraging its accumulated technological advantages in large hydropower, CTG brings the going-global endeavor of China’s hydropower industrial chain to a new level, promoting Chinese standards in overseas hydropower projects such as Murum in Malaysia, Karot in Pakistan, and Kaleta in Guinea. This effort has led to the establishment of a high-quality and high-level CTG brand image. CTG and Energias de Portugal (EDP) jointly established the Sino-Portuguese Centre for New Energy Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. This collaboration aims to constantly improve exchanges and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation for offshore wind power, energy storage, and distributed energy.
